Scientists develop new lithium batteries

March 28, 2023

A new Lithium Battery can increase the drive range of electric vehicles by three times and significantly reduce their maintenance costs. All are set to be mass-produced within a year. Developed by scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States, battery safety operates over a wide temperature range.
An MIT spokesperson, Hu Qichao, said in an interview: “This can also double-click the operating life of a smartphone or laptop.” It is a new lithium battery that was developed in collaboration with Donald, a former professor and battery expert. Current batteries can account for as much as 30% of the price of electric vehicles. They also need temperature control systems to stop them from overheating or catching fire.
Battery expert Donald said: "We have to get the car in the showroom for 30,000 U.S. dollars and less than 130,000 U.S. dollars and a large battery: it's too expensive, and there's too much energy consumed by the runtime." The new battery would be The existing one is about 20% cheaper. Hu Qichao hopes that this lithium battery will be the first one in the production of consumer electronics products in 2016, and electric vehicles will arrive in the second half of the year.
