Plate Vulcanisation

The formation of white, coarse-grained lead sulphate on the plate is called "lead sulphate hardening", or "vulcanisation". This coarse-grained lead sulphate has very poor electrical conductivity and is difficult to convert to lead dioxide and spongy pure lead under normal loading. Due to its coarse grain and large volume, it will block the active agent gap and prevent the electrolyte from penetrating, significantly increasing the internal resistance of the battery.

The main cause of vulcanization

When discharging, the voltage drops too quickly and the capacity drops.
