If the ambient temperature is too low, the battery will be undercharged, which will affect the service life of the Maintenance Free Battery. Therefore, the ambient temperature is generally required to be about 25 ° C, and the UPS floating charging voltage is set according to this temperature. In practical application, the battery is generally charged in the range of 5 ° C to 35 ° C, lower than 5 ° C or higher than 35 ° C will greatly reduce the capacity of the battery, shorten the service life of the battery.

2. The depth of discharge also has a great influence on the battery life. The deeper the battery discharge is, the fewer times it will cycle. Therefore, avoid deep discharge when using the battery. Although the UPS has battery low potential protection function, generally a single battery discharge to about 10.5V, the UPS will automatically shut down. However, if the UPS is in light-load discharge or no-load discharge, it will also cause deep battery discharge.

3. The battery will lose part of its capacity due to self-discharge during storage, transportation and installation. Therefore, before putting into use after installation, the remaining capacity of the battery should be determined according to the open circuit voltage of the battery, and then different methods should be used to supplement the battery charging. The spare Storage Battery should be charged once every 3 months. The battery can be judged by measuring its open-circuit voltage. Take a 12V battery as an example. If the open circuit voltage is higher than 12.5V, it indicates that the battery energy storage is more than 80%. If the open circuit voltage is lower than 12.5V, it should be charged immediately. If the open circuit voltage is lower than 12V, the battery storage energy is less than 20%, and the battery cannot be used.

4. Charging voltage. Because the Ups Battery works in standby mode, it is charged when the mains is normal and discharged only when the power is off. To prolong the battery life, the UPS charger is generally controlled by constant voltage and current limiting. After the battery is full, it will be turned into a floating charging state. The floating charging voltage of each battery is set to about 13.6V. If the charging voltage is too high, the battery will be overcharged, otherwise, the battery will be undercharged. Abnormal charging voltages can be caused by battery configuration errors or by a faulty charger. Therefore, when installing batteries, we must pay attention to the accuracy of battery specifications and quantities, different specifications, different batch numbers of batteries do not mix.
